I was born and raised in Minnesota, and have lived in White Bear Lake for 15 years.  My son graduated from White Bear Lake High School.

After graduating from University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1985 with a degree in Political Science and Communication, I started a career in sales where I am still employed today.  In 2004, I earned a Masters in Public Administration.

I enlisted in the Army National Guard, later transitioning to the Army Reserves.  During my time in the Guard, I deployed to Iraq.  Subsequently, I led a group of military educators that taught the Command and General Staff Officers Course (CGSOC) which is a college accredited course of study. I retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 31 years.

​I am an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1782 in White Bear Lake, and a former Post Commander.
